About The Foundation
The FEF is independent of the Franklin School Committee and has no responsibilities or obligation to said Committee.
The FEF Grant Selection Committee oversees the selection and distribution of funds. Grants are awarded at the Foundation's annual Board of Director's Meeting in May for the upcoming academic year.
The Franklin Education Foundation hosts an annual Adult Spelling or Trivia Bee and a Casino Night. In 2007-2008, monies raised at through both events provided for $25,000 to fund 15 grants.
The annual Bee allows teams of three to enter and enjoy friendly competition while contributing to the FEF grants program and endowment fund.
Businesses, organizations, groups or individuals may sponsor teams in the Bee for $300. Multi-sponsor teams are accepted. Others who wish to support the Bee but do not wish to sponsor a team may make a donation in any amount.
The Foundation includes members of the diverse Franklin community - families, community leaders, local organizations, educational institutions, business & industry - who support the common goal of academic excellence for the children of Franklin.
